Why has the Atlantic been so quiet?

A heads up for storm watchers. Today marks the climatological peak of the Atlantic Hurricane Season.

Although it is rare for there to be no tropical entities in the Atlantic Ocean at this time, the Bermuda Weather Service urges residents to remain vigilant and prepared.
