Sitting Treasurer Jarita Vickers succeeds former President Freddie Evans in a closely contested vote

The Bermuda National Athletics Association (BNAA) has ushered in a new era of leadership following a recent Board of Directors election, which saw the appointment of a new President and four new Board members.
Sitting Treasurer Jarita Vickers secured the top leadership post, succeeding former President Freddie Evans in a closely contested vote.
“I am honored and excited to take on the role of President,” said Vickers, adding that she looks forward to working with the new team to build on the organisation’s strong foundation.
Four new individuals were also elected to the Board: Karen Tucker, Susan Robinson, Dage Minors, and Ruby James. They will serve alongside returning member Syriah Lottimore.
The election follows the departure of long-serving General Secretary/Vice President Mia Bean, who stepped down after 13 years of dedication. The BNAA also extended gratitude to outgoing President Freddie Evans for his pivotal work in developing Bermuda’s profile as a destination for high-level track and field competitions.
