Bermuda’s Sebastian Kempe has made an impressive start at the 2025 ILCA Under-21 World Championship in Dublin Bay, Ireland. The young sailor, who recently won a silver medal at the Junior Pan American Games, finished the opening day in second place overall.
Competing in the highly competitive ILCA 7 Class, which features nearly 220 sailors from 38 nations, Kempe demonstrated remarkable consistency. He secured a third-place finish in his first race and followed it up with a second-place finish in the second race of the day.
His strong performance places him just one point behind the fleet leader, Kyfidis Athanasios from Greece. With several days of racing ahead, Kempe is in an excellent position to challenge for the title, and the competition on Dublin Bay is just getting started.
