Mewett completes medal hat-trick in the pool

Bermuda’s Teagan Mewett has secured a remarkable individual milestone at the XXXIX Carifta Aquatics Championships, claiming her third medal of the meet as the pool action concluded in Martinique.

Competing in the 15-17 Girls 100m Breaststroke at the Pierre Samot Community Aquatic Centre, Mewett demonstrated her elite pedigree with a disciplined and powerful performance. Navigating a high-caliber field, she touched the wall in 1:16.35 to secure the bronze medal, successfully fending off a late surge from the chasing pack.

This latest success completes a “hat-trick” of medals for Mewett, following her standout performances in the breaststroke sprints earlier in the week. Her consistency has been a cornerstone of the Gombey Warriors’ campaign, which has seen Bermuda punch well above its weight in the overall points standings.

While the pool portion of the championships now draws to a close, Mewett’s clinical finale highlights the burgeoning strength of the island’s aquatic program. Bermuda heads into the post-meet celebrations firmly established as a dominant force in Caribbean age-group swimming.
