Sector leader hopes Government will back Throne Speech commitments with funding for prevention and community services
There’s growing hope within Bermuda’s third sector that this year’s Budget will reflect the important role non-profits play in supporting the community.
We spoke with Dr Nicola Paugh, Executive Director of the Non-Profit Alliance, who shared her thoughts on what the sector is expecting to see from Government’s presentation on Friday.
Speaking to the broader environment facing the third sector, Dr Paugh said Bermuda’s non-profits are stretched thin managing rising costs, growing demand for services, and the on-going challenge of raising funds.
The looming questions surrounding Corporate Income Tax, she says, are also adding uncertainty to the sector’s future.
