The Ministry of Public Works and Environment has issued two road traffic notices affecting motorists in Smith’s Parish and Southside this month

Motorists are being advised of a lane closure on Harrington Sound Road and traffic disruption linked to a triathlon event, both taking place in the week ahead.
The first notice concerns a single-lane closure on Harrington Sound Road in Smith’s Parish to facilitate water valve works. The closure will be in effect from Tuesday, 14 April 2026 through Wednesday, 15 April 2026, with working hours from 7.30am to 5.00pm daily. Motorists are encouraged to expect delays and use alternative routes where possible.
The second notice relates to the Bermuda Triathlon Association Bermuda Sports Lab National Championship Standard Distance Triathlon, taking place on Sunday, 26 April 2026, from 8.00am to 9.45am. The event will run through the Southside area, from Clearwater to Kindley Field.
During the triathlon, motorists should anticipate traffic controls and a temporary speed limit adjustment along the event route.
The public is urged to plan travel accordingly, exercise caution in the affected areas, and follow directions from traffic officials and event representatives.
