The taxi driver was uninjured and police have diverted traffic while they investigate the early morning collision.

At approximately 4:25 a.m. on Sunday July 5, 2026, Police and other first responders were dispatched to a two vehicle road traffic collision, involving a taxi and a motorcar, on South Road, near the junction with Harvey Road, Paget.
Details are limited at this time, however, It was reported that both drivers were conscious and alert.
The motorcar driver sustained a leg injury, the extent of which is unknown. He was transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injury.
The taxi driver was not reported to have suffered any injuries.
The collision resulted in the roadway being blocked, with westbound traffic diverted along South Road, then onto Southcote Road. Eastbound traffic was diverted from South Road, onto Cobbs Hill Road.
