Trott extends clean sheet; Butterfield inspires comeback

The day’s fixtures saw Bermuda’s overseas football players in action, highlighted by a clean sheet for goalkeeper Nathan Trott and a spectacular fighting comeback orchestrated by midfielder Milan Butterfield’s Halesowen Town.

Goalkeeper Nathan Trott successfully added to his clean sheet tally, helping Cardiff City defeat Mansfield Town FC 3-0 at the Cardiff City Stadium. Trott came into the match ranked second in the league for shutouts. In League Two, Kane Crichlow marked a significant milestone, making his first league start since August and helping Sutton United defeat Gateshead 4-2.

Midfielder Milan Butterfield was central to the comeback of the weekend as his Halesowen Town teammates engineered a stunning recovery, battling back from a 4-1 deficit in the 82nd minute to secure a dramatic 4-4 draw against Bishop’s Stortford FC.

Elsewhere, Reggie Lambe’s Needham Market FC edged out Alvechurch 1-0, securing three points in their Southern League Premier Central match. Willie Clemons and his Leiston FC teammates showed immense resilience, winning 1-0 against Real Bedford FC despite playing a man down after just 35 minutes.

Ayleal Dill and his Southwell City FC teammates secured a point in a 3-3 draw. However, Justin Donawa’s Brackley Town went down 2-0 to Woking, and Roger Lee’s Heanor Town lost 3-1. Keziah Martin and Ajani Burchall were unused substitutes for their respective teams.
