U.K. funding has boosted specialisms and surveillance for the Police and Regiment; Commissioner assures that frontline policing is not being neglected
A three-million-dollar-plus boost from the UK has funded specialist programmes in the Bermuda Police Service, increased surveillance capabilities in the Royal Bermuda Regiment, and augmented our sanctions capacity.
Police Commissioner Darrin Simons says he is grateful for the targeted UK assistance, which supplements core funding provided by the Bermuda Government.
In response to Opposition comments, Commissioner Simons also affirmed that the BPS is working to increase police visibility alongside increased specialist resources.
