Warwick dethrone Somerset Bridge in Western County Cup Final

In a dramatic and rain-affected final at White Hill Field, Warwick Workmen’s Club were crowned Western County Cup champions after an 11-run victory over holders Somerset Bridge.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Warwick posted a total of 187, with key partnerships from Delray Rawlins and Zeri Tomlinson, as well as a late surge from Luke Fulton and Ajani Lee. Somerset Bridge’s bowlers Allan Douglas and Callum Mcintosh both claimed three wickets.

A rain delay revised the target for Somerset Bridge to 91 runs from 24 overs, but Warwick’s bowlers, led by the outstanding Malachi Jones (3 for 16) and Staphen Dill (3 for 20), tore through their opponents. Despite a valiant effort from Steven Bremar, Somerset Bridge were bowled out for just 80, falling short of their target and handing the cup to Warwick.
