Bermuda’s national bowling squad took centre stage in Germany as the 2026 International Bowling Federation (IBF) World Cup officially got under way in Munich.
The four-man island contingent joined elite bowlers from nearly 50 federations worldwide during Tuesday’s curtain-raising opening ceremony.
Anthony Hayward was handed the honour of carrying the Bermuda flag, while team-mate LeVinc Samuels hoisted the national sign during the traditional parade of nations.
With the formalities out of the way, the squad—completed by experienced campaigners David Maycock and Lamar Richardson—wasted little time dialling into the lane conditions across the official practice sessions.
Bermuda will look to make an impact across both individual and team formats throughout the 10-day tournament. Samuels arrives with proven pedigree on the global stage, having reached the latter knockout stages at the last edition, while Hayward, Maycock, and Richardson provide significant tournament depth.
Competitive action begins on Wednesday, 14 October, starting with the opening pool matches of the Men’s Singles before the team events take over later in the week.
