Bermuda freshman Marleigh Howes enjoyed an eye-catching collegiate debut as McGill University swept to victory at the season-opening RSEQ University Cup meet in Montreal.
Competing at the Université de Montréal’s 25-metre CEPSUM pool, the McGill Martlets delivered an emphatic collective display to top the team standings and lay down an early marker for the 2026-27 campaign.
Howes, a sprint freestyle and butterfly specialist hailing from Warwick, quickly found her rhythm on the Canadian university stage.
The teenager opened her account in the 100m freestyle, executing a composed race to touch the wall in an exact one minute flat (1:00.00).
She returned to the water in the sprint butterfly, clocking 29.25 seconds in the 50m event to cap a sharp individual outing and help ensure a commanding, bonus-filled weekend for the rampant Martlets.
