The Butterfield Bermuda Championship has officially launched its 2026 Birdies for Charity program, offering local non-profits a risk-free platform to boost their fundraising ahead of October’s showpiece event.
The initiative functions as a matching fund program where every single penny raised by participating organizations goes directly to their cause, topped up by an additional tournament match of up to 10%.
Since its inception, the drive has funneled more than $5.8 million into Bermuda-based charitable organizations, spanning vital sectors including education, youth development, health, and social services.
“The Birdies for Charity program is a risk-free opportunity to maximize fundraising efforts,” said Tournament Director Danielle Carrera. “We encourage every charity on island to join us and make an impact.”
How the programme works
Register: Local non-profits sign up early to maximize their tournament marketing opportunities.
Donate: Fans, corporate backers, and communities donate directly via the official tournament website.
Boost: Charities can channel their own independent fundraising—such as tag days and events—directly through the program.
The Payoff: 100% of the funds are returned to the charities, alongside the matching bonus, in the spring of 2027.
Registration for local non-profits is now officially open.
The Butterfield Bermuda Championship will take place from October 22–25, where the world’s top PGA TOUR professionals will battle it out against the spectacular backdrop of Port Royal Golf Course on Bermuda’s south shore.
