Runner Gabriella Cechini has reinforced her strong start to the cross country season, delivering a top-ten performance at the prestigious Paul Short Run Presented by ASICS at Lehigh University.
Representing Mercersburg Academy, Cechini competed in the highly competitive Girls Brown 5K Race. She crossed the finish line in an excellent sixth place with a time of 18 minutes and 52 seconds, achieving a sub-19-minute effort that placed her among the top competitors in the enormous regional field.
Cechini’s strong individual finish provided a significant boost to the Mercersburg Academy Girls team, helping them secure a respectable 10th place finish overall in the final team standings.
Given the depth of talent at the Paul Short Run, Cechini’s consistent success marks a crucial step in her development as she progresses through the demanding fall season schedule.
