Bermuda international Jamin Hodgkins produced a masterclass in game management as UBCOB Ravens secured a pulsating 40-25 victory over university rivals UBC to preserve their perfect start to the British Columbia Men’s Premier League campaign.
In a breathless, high-tempo derby at the Gerald McGavin Centre, the visitors unleashed their attacking firepower after the break to pull clear and secure a third consecutive bonus-point win on the road.
The university outfit threatened throughout with their trademark pace out wide, but the Ravens’ seasoned pack and clinical edge proved decisive in racking up 40 points.
At the heart of it all was fly-half Hodgkins. The former Canada Under-20 and Bermuda youth international dictated the tempo from the backfield, showcasing sharp tactical awareness and pin-point accuracy off the kicking tee.
Whenever UBC mounted a fightback, Hodgkins’ steady boot and composure under pressure shut the door, keeping the Ravens firmly perched near the summit of the BC Premier standings.
