Crash on Montpelier Road leads to hospitalisation and traffic diversions
A motorcyclist is in hospital after a serious three-vehicle collision in Devonshire.
It happened earlier this afternoon on Montpelier Road, near the junction with Hesitation Lane.
A police spokesperson said: “Initial information suggests that a male motorcyclist was traveling north along Montpelier Road behind a car that had stopped to make a turn onto the Arboretum. The motorcycle collided with the rear of the car, throwing the rider into the path of an oncoming vehicle traveling in the opposite direction.”
The motorcyclist was transported to hospital for treatment and the extent of his injuries is currently unknown.
According to police, no other persons are reported to be injured.
The spokesperson added: “Police are on scene and the area is being forensically processed.”
“Traffic diversions are in place at Happy Valley Road and Middle Road.”
