Pink Ferry paused for 2 weeks

Weekday commuter service only upon restoration

The Pink Ferry service has been suspended for two weeks, scheduled to return on July 25th. When it returns it will be on a reduced weekday commuter schedule, with no weekend service.

Owen Darrell, the Minister over Transport, said this allows time for essential repairs, safety and maintenance works.

In the House of Assembly today, Minister Darrell also emphasised that the three ferries operating on this route – the Georgia, the Corona and the Coralita – are all 37-years old, well beyond their 30-year lifespan.

Speaking to us between House sessions, the Minister said the ferries will undergo an assessment during the two-week break.
