Sebastian Kempe produced a standout performance at the San Pedro Olympic Class Racing regatta, placing 14th overall in the ILCA 7 fleet to seal Bermuda’s first country qualification spot for the 2027 Pan American Games.
Competing against a stacked 63-boat fleet across a demanding 12-race series, Kempe mounted a remarkably consistent campaign to end on 99 net points. His peak moment on the water arrived in Race 6, where he crossed the line in 8th place to solidify his standing near the top end of the fleet.
Joining Kempe in the ILCA 7 division, Campbell Patton closed out his regatta in 36th position with 211 net points. Patton showed flashes of superb speed throughout the week, highlighted by a strong 18th-place finish in Race 4.
Meanwhile, Olympian Adriana Penruddocke battled hard in the ILCA 6 fleet, concluding her campaign in 39th position overall with 209 net points. Penruddocke hit her stride early in the event, registering back-to-back 7th-place finishes in Races 2 and 3 to demonstrate her quality at the head of the fleet.
